After a hiatus of almost two years, about 50,000 public and private primary schools in West Bengal were once again buzzing with children’s voices on Wednesday as offline classes resumed for them, maintaining Covid-19 restrictions.
A school education officer reported that more than 80 per cent of students reportedly showed up at each school.
In a number of schools, the yards were planted with bushes and shrubs, as they have not been used for the last 23 months. They were removed after the government allowed primary schools to reopen.
