The Government of India has planned to initiate Adult Education and Lifelong Learning under the National Education Policy 2020. The Union Budget 2021-2022 announcement has been made to enable increased access to resources. The aim behind this initiative is to target fundamental literacy and numeracy as well as other components which are necessary for a citizen of 21st century such as basic education,continuing education in arts, science as well as other topics of interest. Scheme will be implement through volunteerism via online mode and the training and orientation, workshops of volunteer, may be organised in face-to-face mode. All the equipment and resources shall be provided digitally for easy access via digital modes, TV, radio, cell phones or portals etc.
