The Minority Welfare Department of Karnataka issued a circular on Thursday to ban the students from wearing saffron (bhagwa) shawls, scarfs, hijab as well as any other religious things which can be a reason for religious controversy until the further orders at education institutions that come under the ambit of the department. Students are strictly denied to wear any regardless things of their religion or faith in classrooms. Committees have prescribes the student dress code or uniform only.
The Pre-education Board of Karnataka has also released a circular stating that students can wear only the uniform approved by the school administration and no other religious practices will be allowed in colleges.
