Though I am not a forest officer but but I can guess some of the issues an IFoS might face during the duty.
I have also done some research online and presenting my opinion and knowledge:
- Should I call myself IFS or IFoS?
- Will I be posted in forests throughout my service period?
- Is it necessary for me to reapply for civil service? [first few years in the job]
- Is it necessary for me to prepare for state service? [for those who prefer to remain in their native state]
- Should I pursue an MBA or remain in IFoS?
- Should I go on a central deputation or remain in my current state?
- Conflicts between humans and animals: saving vs. killing wild animals
- Forest clearance for industry - a problem of development vs. the environment
- Dealing with political pressure, threats from criminals, and other issues - the problem of self-preservation vs. responsibility.
