The Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), is a scheme which is sponsored by Central government will continue its operation of funding the state government universities and colleges till 31st of March 2026. The Aim of this scheme is to achieve equity, access and excellence. The new of this scheme targets to reach out to remote/rural areas, difficult geographical areas, areas with low GER etc., and to benefit the most disadvantaged areas and SEDGs.
States will also get support for the creation of New Model Colleges. State Universities will be supported for Multi-Disciplinary Education and Research.

It is a good initiative. It promotes state universities and colleges to launch new programme and courses in various fields.
