Whether schools reopen this school year or not, teachers and management have said that no student should be transferred to the next school year without exams.
They said that advancing students without exams would have a negative impact on the student as he/she would not achieve learning outcomes or gain basic knowledge. “Last year the situation was different. Pupils attended schools for almost a year, took tests and prepared for final exams.
So their promotion without exams did not bring much harm, since they were taught in full. This year, if students are transferred to another school without exams, they will be at a loss as many do not even know what is included in the curriculum,” said Shekar Rao I, president of the Telangana Recognized School Management Association.
