The Supreme Court of India refused to consider a motion to abolish offline examinations in 10th and 12th grades administered by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), National Institute of Open School Education (NIOS) and other state councils.
The panel of Judges A. M. Khanvilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and K. T. Ravikumar heard a statement today. In rejecting a motion to cancel offline exams for 10th and 12th graders, the Supreme Court said today that considering such motions would cause more confusion in the system. “This cannot become the norm. Such petitions give students false hopes. They will be misled by such petitions,” the Supreme Court added.
The Supreme Court also refused to consider the application for an alternative method of evaluation.
