The Tripura government has decided to provide free books to students from class 1 to 12 so that they can prepare for their studies even at home.
“Books on 85 subjects prepared by the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) have been released. It is the first of its kind in the state and even in the country. “They could prepare at home with these workbooks. The books will be distributed soon and all students will receive them from the next school year,” Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath told reporters in Agartala.
Classes from preschool to senior secondary have resumed from January 31 this year after a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In announcing the reopening of schools last month, Nat said the school closures had an impact on student achievement and mental health.
