Basic pay is computed depending on the pay level to which you have been assigned, for example, pay levels 3, 4, and so on.
House Rent Allowance: It will be computed based on basic wage in three categories: 27% for metro cities, 18% for semi-urban regions, and 9% for rural areas.
For Ex:
If a person is appointed in pay level 6 the calculations are below:
Basic pay: 35400
HRA: 9558
DA: 10974
Transport allowance : 3600 + 432 DA
Gross: 59532
Upon this 10%, NPS will be calculated on Basic and DA
