On February 22, 2022, by the Online video conferencing The Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda interact with the students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools across Jharkhand and stated that the government has taken up the challenge of education of the tribal population in mission mode and efforts are continuously making to catapult them to an international level. The government of Jharkhand allows to start 452 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools to bridge the gap in tribal children’s education. These schools will help tribal students to get quality education for their overall development. A significant numbers of such schools are proposed to established in remote areas at the block level.
The Tribal affairs minster stated that due to the efforts made to improve the tribal education, several toppers and winners emerged from Eklavya Model Residential Schools in various fields like academics, sports and cultural activities. Tribal Affaif Ministers also introduced about the scholarships are available to tribal children for higher education, including post-matric scholarships, higher education scholarships, national fellowships, and scholarships for overseas education.
