Stopping of De-reservation in Central institutions like IITs and NITs says Education Minister
Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education, has requested that the De-reservation of seats in Central Education Institutions (CEIs), like IITs and NITs, be halted immediately. The Minister of Education has mandated that all institutions receiving funds from the central government adhere to the reservation policy and do not transfer unfulfilled reserved seats to general or open category students.
According to a report, the Education Ministry has requested an immediate answer from the Central Education Institutions on this matter. The union education minister has also urged colleges to guarantee that reserved seats are filled, and if necessary, the cut-off for reserved seats might be lowered. In order to assure entrance to reserved category seats, the minister has also requested an additional year of education.
