Can I apply for more than one PG Program?
Yes, in most universities and competitive entrance systems, you can apply for more than one postgraduate (PG) program, but there are a few important points to check:
1. Within the Same University
- Many universities allow applying to multiple PG programs in the same admission cycle.
- You usually need to fill out separate application forms (or indicate multiple choices within the same form) and pay separate fees for each program.
- Some institutions have common entrance tests for multiple PG courses (e.g., CUET-PG), while others require separate exams or interviews.
2. Across Different Universities
- There is generally no restriction — you can apply to as many institutions as you like, provided you meet the eligibility criteria and can manage exam dates.
3. Exceptions
- Some highly competitive institutions (such as certain IIM PG programs or specialized research institutes) may have rules about applying to only one program per academic year.
- A few courses with combined counselling (e.g., medical PG seats under NEET-PG) follow centralised choice-filling, so you apply once and select multiple preferences.
Note
- Check university websites for application limits.
- Prioritize choices into categories such as Dream, Target, and Safe options.
- Prepare a strong SOP and LOR tailored to each program.
