Recruitment of Temporary Positions for the R&D projects at CSIR-NIO Regional Centre Mumbai
The National Institute of Oceanography CSIR NIO was founded on January 1, 1966, and focuses primarily on the observation and understanding of certain oceanographic features of the Indian Ocean. These studies include ocean data collection, environmental impact assessment, and modeling to predict environmental impacts. The institute also provides advice on a variety of issues, including marine environmental protection and coastal regulation. CSIR NIO functions as an advanced marine science education center and has an oceanographic school under the Academy of Science and Innovation Research (AcSIR).
CSIR National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications for the eligible candidates for recruitment of the project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Regional Centre Mumbai. Working on Delineating the Ecosystem Ecology of Wadge Bank and Adjacent Regions (DEEWAR).
Position - Project Associate
Duration- The tenure of the Project will be 3 months

a) CV/Bio-Data with a recent color photograph
b) Educational Qualification Certificate as mentioned in the advertisement essential qualification /
Semester Mark sheet or Final Mark sheet is compulsory. Along with this, Degree Award
Certificate or Provisional Award Certificate. Percentage or CGPA should clearly displayed on any
one of the certificates. If the certificate doesn’t have the proper percentage / CGPA / Grade then the
application may not be considered. The candidate must ensure to provide with proper certificates to
ensure their eligibility for the said positions.
c) Date of Birth Proof (Any valid certificate having DoB such as SSLC, HSC, DoB Certificate, etc)
d) Category certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). (If applicable)
e) NET/GATE/SET/Any other Equivalent exam qualification certificate (If applicable)
f) Experience certificate (Mandatory for the posts where experience is an essential qualification)
g) Other certificates if any.
Essential Qualification
The candidates should have M.Sc in Marine Science /Marine Biology / Zoology
Desirable Qualification
Work experience or familiarity in the analysis of benthic samples. Field sample collection in the coastal areas by boat /trawler/cruise participation. Sample processing and analysis for identification of macrobenthic fauna. Data analysis and writing of reports.
Age Limit
The candidate applying should have a maximum age of 35 years on the last date of receiving the application.
Salary
The candidate will get the monthly emoluments of Rs. 25000/- Plus HRA as per rules
Selection Process
If a number of applications are more, then the selection committee will fix the criteria to shortlist the applicants. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. Selection will be done on the basis of an online interview through either Skype/Google Meet/Zoom or any other suitable software, as decided by the competent authority.
