On September 5, 2022 (Monday), On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the Chief minister of Punjab “Bhagwant Mann” announced the implementation of 7th pay commission for all colleges and universities of Punjab. As per the reports a notice will be issued soon. In a video message, Punjab CM stated that the 7th pay commission come in force from October 1, 2022. Punjab University teachers were expecting the UGC pay scales would be implemented during the Budget Session of the state Assembly, but it was not done.
Later the President of Punjab University Teachers Association, Mritunjay Kumar give his reaction on the statement “The CM had himself made the announcement in the Assembly, but it was surprising that the same does not figure in the budget presented by the government. Only the Government can explain the reason behind this, but we are still awaiting for the notification”.
