All-India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination, conducts by National Testing Agency (NTA) is an entrance exam. Students who are seeking admission in Sainik Schools must have qualified this examination. Admission to Class VI and Class IX of the 33 Sainik Schools for the academic year 2023-24, is through a written exam called AISSEE 2023. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All-India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The admission of candidates will be carried out on the basis of e-counselling as per rank secured by the candidates in the School wise, gender wise, category wise(Home State and Out Side State) Merit List of AISSEE 2023, medical fitness approved by competent medical authorities and verification of original documents.
The concept of Home State and Outside State is linked to the domicile of the candidate and is determined with reference to the location of the Saink School opted by him/her in his application. A candidate is deemed to belong to Home State if his state of domicile and the State where the Sainik School opted by him in his application is located, are the same. A candidate is deemed to belong to Outside State if his state of domicile and the State where the Sainik School opted by him in his application is located, are different.
Approved New Sainik Schools:
Admission to Sainik School pattern in the approved New Sainik schools will be at class VI level only for the academic year 2023-24.
Admission will be through AISSEE 2023
Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All-India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The admission of candidates will be carried out on the basis of ecounselling as per rank secured by the candidates in the Merit List of AISSEE 2023, medical fitness approved by competent medical authorities and verification of original documents.
There are two channels of admission to approved NSS:
40% route:
Minimum 40% of the seats under the Sainik School stream in approved NSSs will be filled on the basis of the rank secured in the All India Merit List of AISSEE 2023. Domicile/Category are not considered for this Merit List. Candidates can opt for any NSS in India, at the time of counselling.
60% route:
Upto 60% of the seats in NSSs will be filled by those who are currently studying in any of the approved NSSs. They will be filled on the basis of rank secured in School wise Merit List. Domicile/Category are not considered for this Merit List.
AISSEE 2023
AISSEE 2023 covers admission to
a. Class VI and Class IX of the Sainik Schools and
b. Class VI of the New Saiink Schools for the academic year 2023-24.
Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All-India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The admission of candidates will be carried out on the basis of ecounselling as per Merit List of AISSEE 2023, medical fitness approved by competent medical authorities and verification of original documents. AISSEE 2023 is common for those who are seeking admission to Sainik Schools and those who are seeking admission to approved New Sainik Schools. Both have to have to appear in AISSEE 2023 and qualify for admission to Sainik Schools or approved New Sainik Schools.

ROLE OF NTA:
AISSEE 2023 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications for AISSEE 2023, conduct of the AISSEE 2023, processing and declaration of result and providing the merit list to the SSS.
DATE OF AISSEE-2023:
AISSEE 2023 will be held on 08 Jan 2023.(Sunday)
(a) For admission to Class VI: From 02:00 pm to 04:30 pm
(b) For admission to Class IX: From 02:00 pm to 5:00 pm
The schedule will remain unaltered even if the date of the exam is declared a Public Holiday.
