  • On October 25, 2022 the University of Delhi has released the first cutoff list for BA and BCom courses under Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB). Admissions under NCWEB are being conducted through the cutoff lists based on the marks of Class XII, according to the Official prospectus. As mentioned in the academic calendar 2022-23, students can apply for admission from today, i.e. 26th October 2022.

    What is NCWEB

    Non-Colleglate Women’s Education Board established by the University of Delhi in 1943. DU offers the special coaching with attending regular classes to women students who are residing in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

    Features:

    • The Board enables thousands of young women, who cannot join regular college for various reasons to attend classes during Saturdays/Sundays, academic breaks to obtain Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree from the renowned University of Delhi.

    • The Board provides library facility to all undergraduate students in the respective Teaching Centres and a Postgraduate Library is located in the Arts Faculty Building, North Campus.

    • Teachers of the University of Delhi and affiliated Colleges are appointed as guest faculty to teach the Non-Collegiate students.

    • The most prominent advantage of Non-Collegiate programme of teaching is its less fee cost and uitlisation of the existing infrastructure of educational institutions during Saturdays/Sundays and academic breaks.

  • According the current circulating data, Around 59,100 seats being filled at the end of the first seat allocation round at Delhi University. It will likely be seen in upcoming seat allocation rounds, admission in several top colleges will close for most courses.

  • In comparison to 2021, Delhi University has received fewer than two lakh applications for UG courses for the academic session 2022-23. Speaking about the declining number, the former Executive Council member of Du Rajesh Jha said, “ The manner in which the entire admission process has been conducted this year has been ridden with uncertainty.”

      President Droupadi Murmu also inaugurated a high power active and passive component laboratory “Sammer”.

      While addressing the IIT Guwahati she stated,“ The SAMEER laboratory will enable R&D assisted critical applications in the defence sector and other industries. The massive effort by the state government to establish multiple medical colleges acorss Assam will ensure that the gap in the doctor-population ratio will be bridged significantly and it will open doors for medical research, especially for the treatment of cancer as well as other non-destructive testing”.

    • On Thursday October 13, 2022, The President of India, Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a super computer called “PARAM KAMRUPA” and a high power active and passive component laboratory “SAMEER” at IIT Guwahati during her visit to Assam.

      During Inaugration, the president said, “ I’m confident that the Super computer PARAM-KAMRUPA facility inaugurated at IIT Guwahati wii be put to use in the best possible manner to broaden our understanding and knowledge on various technological topics.”
