LIC ADO
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) keeps on releasing notifications for the recruitment to the posts of Apprentice Development Officer (ADO) in its various divisional offices under various zonal offices across the country. Here we are going to discuss the information related to their recruitment exams like application process, eligibility criteria, exam scheme and syllabus, selection process and other details.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
The selection process for the suitable candidates is different for different categories as mentioned below:
(i) Agent and Employee category: Candidates who are a whole-time salaried employee of the organization or engaged by the organization for the purpose of procuring and revival of insurance business.
(ii) Open market or other categories: Candidates not related to the organisation as employees or agents.

Examination Scheme:
(i) Agent and Employee category: The selection from this category will be done through Single Stage (Main) Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 150 marks.

(ii) Open market category: Selection from this category will be made on the basis of an online examination followed by an interview of candidates who have qualified two-stage online examination and subsequent pre-recruitment medical examination.

- The English language paper will be of qualifying nature and a candidate will have to clear this test. But marks in English papers will not be considered for the ranking.

- The medium of all the papers will be both English and Hindi except the English language paper.
Interview and Final Merit List:
Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews on the basis of marks obtained in the main examination. After the interview, the final merit list will be prepared by adding the interview marks with the marks obtained in the main examination. The selected candidate will be appointed as Apprentice Development Officer (ADO) if found medically fit during the pre-recruitment medical examination.
Salaries:
The salary of a candidate appointed as Apprentice Probationary Officer after successful completion of apprenticeship (Theoretical & Field Sales Training) will be approximately ₹ 37,345/- in ‘A’ Class City including House Rent Allowance and City Compensatory Allowance.
Guarantee Bond:
Candidates selected for Apprentice Development Officer will have to undertake to serve the organization for a period of at least four years from the date of joining. If he/she fails to do so, the candidates will be liable to pay liquidated damages of ₹ 25,000/- (Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand only) to the organization.
How to Apply Online for LIC ADO Exam?
The application process will be categorised into 2 stages:
A. Application Registration:
Before applying, a candidate must have
(i) scanned images of his/her recent passport size, coloured photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration (in English and in blue or black ink on white paper).
The text for handwritten declaration is as follows:
“I, __ (Name of candidate) __, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
(ii) a valid and active personal email ID and mobile number. LIC verifies these details by sharing the registration and password and can use it to send the call letters for the exam and interview.
Steps:
- Visit the website: [(http://www.licindia.in/Bottom-Links/careers.)]
- Select the tab “Click here for new registration” and fill in the required information mentioned there correctly.
- Thereafter, a Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.
- Now login with Provisional Registration Number and Password and fill in the details carefully and click on ‘Verify your details’ and ‘Save & Next’ tabs.
- Now upload the scanned images of the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration.
- Then click on the ‘Preview Tab’ to preview and verify the entire application form.
- After ensuring that the photograph, signature and other details uploaded by you are correct, click on the ‘FINAL SUBMIT’ tab to proceed to the next step.
B. Payment of fees:
- A candidate has to pay the application fee/intimation fee (non-refundable) through online mode only. Payment can be made using Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, or Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets.
- On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
- After successful payment of the fee, a confirmation page will be generated for the candidate. They can use it for further recruitment processes in the future.
C. Choice of Examination Centre:
Candidates should select a centre for their examination from the list of examination centres given in Annexure-I.
D. Choice of Division:
The notification for the recruitment of candidates is issued by all the zonal offices of LIC. A candidate can apply for only one division.
E. Biometric Verification:
The biometric data and photograph of the candidate will be captured and verified by the organisation during the examination, interview and training processes. In case of a mismatch of these data, the candidate may be denied or debarred from the recruitment processes.
Issue of call letters and Examination:
- Candidates need to visit the LIC website: [(http://www.licindia.in/Bottom-Links/careers)] .
- They can download their call letters for Computer-Based Tests (CBT) by giving details about (i) Registration Number, (ii) Password and (iii) Date of Birth.
- Candidates must affix a recent recognisable photograph on the printed call letter.
- Candidates will have to appear at the examination centre with (i) a call letter (ii) original photo identity proof issued by the Govt. Authorization and photocopy of the same photo identity proof which is brought in the original.
- A candidate will have to appear for the examination on the date given in the respective call letter/admit card at his own risk and expense.
INTERVIEW:
After Qualifying Computer-Based Tests, candidates have to present for the interview with the following documents in originals and a set of attested photocopies of each for verification:
(i) Bachelor’s degree certificate issued by the University,
(ii) Certificate of Fellowship of the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai, in case of applicants belonging to Employees and Agents category,
(iii) Masters Degree Certificate in Business Administration in Marketing or Post-Graduate Diploma Certificate in Marketing from a University or by an Institute approved by All India Council of Technical Education in case of candidates belonging to others category,
(iv) Secondary/Higher Secondary Certificates issued by the Board showing the date of birth,
(v) Caste certificate issued by the respective authority in case of SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates,
(vi) Certificate of at least 2 year’s sales/administrative experience in the Life Insurance Industry,
(vii) Discharge certificate in case of Ex-serviceman.
