United India Insurance Company Administrative Officer (UIIC- AO) Recruitment
United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) is a public sector general insurance company wholly-owned and controlled by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It keeps on releasing notifications for the recruitment of eligible Indian Nationals to the posts of Administrative Officers (AO - Scale I Cadre). Here we are going to discuss their recruitment exam related information like eligibility and selection criteria, the application process, exam scheme and other details.
1. Post Details:
A. Disciplines:
UIIC keeps on realising notifications for the recruitment for the post of Administrative Officers (AO) for the discipline of AO Medical Officer.
B. Posting/ Service Conditions:
Selected candidates on appointment are liable to be posted or transferred to any place in India as decided by the Company. No private practice will be allowed.
C. Probation:
The candidates appointed in the officer cadre will have a probation period of one year from the date of joining the duty. The period of probation may be extended for a further period of six months. Meanwhile, a candidate will need to successfully qualify the non-life licentiate exam conducted by the Insurance Institute of India. Only after qualifying the said examination will the candidate be eligible for confirmation of his/her services as Administrative Officer in the Company.
D. Guarantee Bond:
Candidates selected for an Administrative Officer (AO) will have to undertake to serve the organisation for a period of at least two years from the date of joining (including the probation period). If he/she fails to do so, the candidate shall be liable to pay liquidated damages of ₹ One Lakh. A bank guarantee secured from a nationalised bank or a fixed deposit in a nationalised bank with the lien of the company shall be submitted at the time of joining the services. The Bank Guarantee/Fixed Deposit will survive for two years. In case of failure to serve the minimum period, Bank Guarantee/Fixed Deposit will be invoked.
No lien/bond executed to retain a substantive position with the present employer shall be binding on the company and no leave salary or pension contribution shall be made.
E. Salaries:
The salary of a candidate appointed as Administrative Officer in Metropolitan City will be around ₹ 63,000/- per month which includes House Rent Allowance and City Compensatory Allowance. Other benefits like Non-Practicing Allowance @ 25% of Basic Pay, Pension, Gratuity, LTC, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, etc., are also provided to selected candidates as per the rules of the company. The officers are also entitled to the company/leased accommodation as per norms.
2. Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
A. Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee (arrived in India before 1 January 1962), or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
B. Age: Ranges from 21 to 30 years.
Relaxation in the upper age limit will be considered for the below-mentioned categories of candidates:

- In case of a candidate eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories, age relaxation will be available on a cumulative basis, subject to a maximum age not exceeding 45 years.
- In the case of an Ex-serviceman who has once joined the Government service on the civil side after availing the benefits as an Ex-serviceman for his re-employment, his Ex-servicemen status for the purpose of re-employment in Government service ceases.
C. Educational Qualification:
- A candidate should have a minimum qualification of M.B.B.S. Degree from a recognized University or equivalent foreign degree recognised as equivalent to M.B.B.S. Degree by Medical Council of India and valid registration from Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council.
- Dental, Homeopathy, Ayurvedic, Unani, etc., are not valid disciplines for this post.
- Preference is given to candidates having a working knowledge of computers.
3. Application Process:
- Eligible candidates can apply for this post neatly typed or handwritten in CAPITAL LETTERS on A4 paper and in the prescribed format only (as given in the notification manual).
- After enclosing the application inside the envelope, write “UIIC - Administrative Officer - Medical” on the left and upper corner of the envelope.
- If you belong to the categories of SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates, you must also attach the latest caste certificate along with the application.
- The candidates belonging to the categories of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) will have to attach a certificate regarding disability in the prescribed format issued by the District Medical Board.
- Candidates serving in Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertakings are required to send their applications through proper channels. However, they may send an advance copy of the application so as to reach the same within the stipulated time.
- Candidates are required to send their application to the given address by the Indian Postal Service by Ordinary Post/ Registered Post before the date mentioned in the advertisement. Applications sent by courier or any other mode will not be accepted.
Now a major change has been observed that applications should be submitted through online mode only. The application link will be available in the Recruitment section of the UIIC website [(http://uiic.co.in)].
4. Selection Procedure:
An adequate number of candidates as stipulated by the Company will be shortlisted on the basis of their qualification, experience and overall suitability for interview. The company will conduct personal interviews of short-listed candidates at their selected centres. Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed AC II/III class rail fare/bus fare by the shortest route from the station of residence to the place of interview on production of evidence of travelling for the purpose of an interview.
The final selection will be based on the personal interview of short-listed candidates conducted by the company.
Presently personal interviews through video conferencing are being conducted by the company from 18.08.2021 to 31.08.2021 at their selected centres for recruitment to the post of Administrative Officer - Medical (Scale-I) Cadre. This interview was postponed last year (2020) due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown situation.
