- NEET-MDS stands for national eligibility-cum-entrance Test (Master of Dental Surgery )
- this exam enables candidates to take admission in postgraduate courses for dentaL.
- It prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MDS Courses in the country.
- The exam is conducted by NBE (national board for examination).
- No other entrance examination, either at the state or the Institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS courses. Qualifying NEET-MDS is mandatory for entry to MDS courses under various Universities/ Institutions in the country.
The following Dental institution is not covered for admission to MDS courses through NEET-MDS for the 2021 admission session:
- AIIMS, New Delhi No state government/private dental college/Universities shall be conducting any separate entrance for admission to their MDS Courses for the admission session 2021

How to Apply
You can submit your application form for the NEET-MDS exam from the NBE website https://nbe.edu.in from 26th October – 15th November 2020 The following sequence shall be observed while filling the online application form for exams:
Fill the Registration Form for Obtaining User ID and Password
User ID and Password will be then, sent through SMS and Email.
Fill the Application Form and Upload your photograph, signature, and thumb impression
Choose your test city Make a payment of fees
Take a printout of the filled application form with transaction ID printed on it.
Upon creating a profile, you will receive a User ID and Password on your registered email ID and mobile number. Using these credentials, you can login as a registered applicant to fill the application form. The application may be saved at the respective stage and can be re-visited to complete later.

Important note - During the examination candidates are given an option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review which means that candidate has been given an option to go through these questions again before the examination time ends. Candidates may note that such questions which are marked for review shall be evaluated as per the marking scheme
Validity OF NEET-MDS 2021 Result -
The validity of the result of NEET-MDS 2021 shall be only for the current admission session i.e. 2021 admission session.
Eligibility criteria to appear in exam.
A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised dental college.
The internship is a must for this exam
A candidate will be eligible if he/she has completed the compulsory rotatory internship and obtained provisional or permanent registration on or before 31st March 2021.

Reservation
For information regarding reservations in institutions for which counseling shall be conducted by DGHS, please visit Medical Counseling Committee website www.mcc.nic.in There shall be a reservation of 15% for the candidates of the Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for the candidates of the Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 27% for the candidates of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) as per statutory provisions and applicable rules. The OBC reservation at 27% is only in Central Government Institutions/Central Universities only for Non-cream layer and as per Central list of OBC.
For States/Union Territories - 50% State Quota Seats and Private Dental Colleges/Institutes/Universities/Deemed Universities
-Reservation policy and guidelines applicable in different States/Union Territories of India will be followed for the respective State /Union territory quota seats.
-NBE shall be providing only the data of candidates and the marks scored by them in NEET-MDS to the State Governments / Counseling Authority without applying the reservation prevalent in the concerned States/Private Dental Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities. The merit list and category wise merit list for the concerned State shall be generated by the State themselves as per applicable Regulations, qualifying criteria, applicable guidelines and reservation policies.
For Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions
Candidates opting for admission to MDS seats in Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Institutions shall select the following option in the NEET-MDS 2020 online application form: Are you willing to opt for PG Courses in Armed Forces Medical Services -Yes/ No?
There is no reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates in the Armed Forces Medical Institutions.
Note: A candidate who has failed to secure the minimum percentile as prescribed in these regulations, shall not be admitted to any postgraduate courses in any academic year.
Minimum 5 % seats of the annual sanctioned intake capacity shall be filled up by the candidates with Bench Mark Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
