Forensic science is one of the applications of Science.forensic science is a subject that fascinates most of us. It is the major study of science and criminal justice. Forensic Science is essentially a crime laboratory-based profession.
The field of forensic science draws from a number of scientific branches, including physics, chemistry, and biology, with its focus being on the recognition, identification, and evaluation of physical evidence. The modern judiciary system relies heavily on the expertise and abilities of the forensic scientists, as you are expected to be efficient, unbiased and most importantly accurate in the work you do.
Forensic Science Courses Eligibility
Forensic Science courses eligibility has been mentioned below in detailed manner.
In India, some universities may require candidates to pass entrance exams such as BHU PET,GSAT,NEST, CG PAT,and so on.
The minimum eligibility requirements for Diploma and undergraduate courses is to complete 10+2 form a recognized Board.
Masters in Forensic Science is a 2-year program that can be pursued after a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 60%.
The candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree either in Forensic Science or other areas of science/ engineering/ medical/ pharmacy from a recognized institute.
PhD or Doctorate courses in Forensic Science is a research level or research-based program which is offered for the duration of 3-years and can be expanded to over 5-years depending upon the time taken to complete the thesis work.
The course can be pursued after a Master’s degree in Forensic Science with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
