DSP stands for Deputy Superintendent of Police. In state police services, DSP is a good rank of officers. The post of DSP is similar to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). The DSP may be promed to the post of IPS. This truly depends on rules and regulations. UPPSC invites applications every year for this post.
Selection Process
The selection process involves three to four stages. The candidates who want to become DSP have to apply for state Civil Services examination.
