Psychologist
The study of human behavior and mental processes is known as psychology.
Psychologists analyze a person’s responses, emotions, and behaviour, then use what they’ve learned to address the resulting behavioural issues. Rather than giving drugs for a “quick cure,” treatment focuses on therapy and counselling.
Psychologists are in charge of detecting psychological, emotional, and/or behavioural concerns, as well as diagnosing any particular disorders, utilizing data gathered through patient interviews, tests and records, and medical reference sources. The psychologist’s duty also includes developing a personalized treatment plan for each patient and modifying it as needed over time.
The following are the prerequisites for becoming a licenced psychologist:
1.Pass the 10+2 exam with Psychology as one of the courses, if possible.
2.Complete a Bachelor’s degree in psychology (BA or BS) with a focus on “personality development, psychotherapy, stress management, and neuropsychology” in the curriculum.
3.Postgraduate specialisation is available with an M.A. or M.Sc. in either Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling.
4.PhD or M.Phil programmes are also offered for further specialisation at the doctorate level.
