SCNS or Special Centre for Nanosciences is a premier institute at JNU for interdisciplinary research and teaching in the field of Nanoscience. All the faculty members of the cenrtre have a strong background in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Material Sciences, Electron Microscopy etc.
In present, CIF or Common Instrumentation Facility is the nanomaterial synthesis and characterization facilities. This facility include XRD, BOD incubator, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, Raman spectrophotometer, AFM, Dynamic Light Scattering, Zeta Potential Measurement, UV-NIR Spectrophotometer, Viscometry, Elisa ReaderTensiometry, Potentiostat-Galvanostat, Contact Angle Measurement, Cell culture facility, Laminar Hood, and Fluorescence Spectrometer, etc.
The laboratory in this centre is well equipped with the human cell lines culture and storage facility (-20oC and -80 oC) and Fluorescence Microscope for study of nanotoxicity and nanobio interactions.
