SCEL or Special Centre for E-Learning is the newly created centre at JNU. The main purpose of this centre is to develop and offer online courses with an aim to bring its expertise and high quality education system. This centre is more beneficial to those who miss out on the university’s competitive entrance examination, and because of its limited on-campus space.
These all the online courses are planned to be offered in large numbers disciplines and in multiple domains. The courses range from Certificate to Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees, where interested candidates will get an opportunity to virtually attend the classes taught by the best faculty from even the remote regions of the country.
SCEL is always trying to find the best in order to fulfill the quality parameters specified under the University Grants Commission (Online Courses or Programmes) Regulations, 2018. Centre plans to develop the infrastructure, appoint academic and administrative staff, maintain and administer the Centralised DataBase of all the online Courses or Programmes. This centre also works for effective coordination among the faculty members offering online courses, admission branch, evaluation branch and Communication and Information Services at JNU.
