The Bihar Public Service Commission initially began its functioning for the State of Bihar with its headquarters at Ranchi. The State Government decided to shift the headquarters of the Commission from Ranchi to Patna and it was finally shifted to Patna on 1st March 1951. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is one of the most reputed State Level Civil Services Exam conducted for recruitment to multiple posts.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have a full-time degree in the respective engineering discipline i.e. civil, mechanical, and mechanical engineering from a recognized university or institution (AICTE approved).

  • The age limit for BPSC Assistant Engineer is between 21 years to 37 years.

The selection process for BPSC Assistant Engineer will be held through a written competitive examination. The written test will comprise of 4 compulsory papers and 2 optional papers. The optional paper will have to be selected by the candidates as per their educational qualifications.

  • The compulsory papers for BPSC AE are General Engineering Science, General English, General Hindi, General Studies.

  • The optional papers for BPSC AE are Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.

The BPSC Assistant Engineer exam pattern for civil, electrical, and mechanical is given below.

  • All the questions in the BPSC AE exam will be set in English and Hindi.

  • General Hindi and General English paper will be qualifying in nature where you will have to score at least 30 marks in each paper to qualify.

  • The BPSC AE exam will have only objective type questions. ( Multiple choice questions).

  • The exam will be conducted for 1 hr for each subject paper.

  • There will be a penalty for each wrong answer of 0.25 per wrong answer in the BPSC AE Exam
