PPDT is short for picture perception and description test.

Candidates will be shown a random picture on which they must write a storey in a short amount of time, after which they must participate in a group discussion with fellow candidates in which they must discuss their stories with one another, and finally, they must decide which storey was the best or reach a consensus to create a common storey.

In the PPDT, a candidate’s storytelling ability is tested, as well as his communication skills; it doesn’t matter what language he speaks (English or Hindi), but how well he speaks. However, it is recommended that you use English. A candidate must demonstrate the qualities.

Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT) is a screening test in the SSB. Based on that, candidates are allotted a time period of 4 minutes to write a story on the picture with details consisting of what had led to the situation, what is happening now, and what will be the possible outcome.

It takes place on the first day of the SSB interview and determines whether or not you will be allowed to proceed with the interview.

Tips:
Avoid creating stories with superheroes or other ridiculous characters while writing the PPDT storey.
Also, avoid conventional climaxes like getting a prize or receiving too much praise.
Imagine yourself in that picture or circumstance for a better perspective before framing your tale.

MadhuKumari According to my experience I am writing some tips-
Avoid touching and pointing people during group discussions by sitting upright and without moving back and forth. If it’s not absolutely necessary, don’t yell. During the PPDT, do not glance at the assessors at any time. Help the group construct a tale by agreeing more and arguing less.
