GATE Examination

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) is a national examination that is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science(IISc) and the seven Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs) on behalf of the National Coordination Board(NCB) - Gate comes under Department of Higher Education. Qualifying of Gate is mandatory for seeking admission in Master’s programs, and Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture. Some colleges also required GATE to admit students many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also been using the GATE score in their recruitment process.

How to Apply

Online Application Process for GATE exam

  • Candidates can apply on the website (https://gate.iitkgp.ac.in)

  • Apply for the examination.

  • Upload photograph, signature, and other documents and category certificate (SC / ST / PwD) and /

or Dyslexic certificate as applicable.

  • Pay the application fee from different electronic payment modes.

  • Check the Status of the application form

The Gate exam is conducted online with a duration of 3 hours. There are a total of 29 subjects.

  • The candidate studying in the 3rd year or higher in any Undergraduate degree.

  • The candidate that has already completed any degree approved by the government such as

Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts are eligible for appearing
in the GATE.

Syllabus

The syllabus of different subjects with topics are
General Aptitude

  • Verbal Aptitude - Basic English grammar such as tenses, articles, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions, verb-noun

and the agreement, and other parts of speech such as Basic vocabulary: words, idioms, and phrases,
Reading and comprehension Narrative sequencing.

  • Quantitative Aptitude -Data interpretation: data graphs (bar graphs, pie charts, and other graphs representing data), 2- D and 3-D plots, maps, and tables Numerical computation and estimation: ratios, percentages, powers, exponentials and logarithms, permutations and combinations, and series, Mensuration, and geometry Elementary statistics and probability

  • Analytical Aptitude - Logic: deduction and induction, Analogy, Numerical relations, and reasoning

  • Spatial Aptitude, Shape Transformation: translation, rotation, scaling, mirroring, assembling, and grouping

Paper folding, cutting, and 2-D and 3-D patterns.

GATE 2022 Exam Day Instructions

  1. Candidates must arrive at the examination center at least 90 minutes before the start of the examinations.
  2. Follow the rope queues and marks on the floor when entering the exam site.
  3. Candidates with a body temperature above 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit will be required to report for the exam from an isolated area at the exam center.
  4. The barcodes on the passes will be scanned at the examination center, after which the candidates will find out the numbers of their laboratories.
  5. The following items are allowed in the exam room: mask, gloves, personal bottle of hand sanitiser, simple pen and/or pencil, personal transparent water bottle, exam-related documents (ID, etc.).
  6. After the exam, don’t forget to drop the notepad in the drawer near the exit.

GATE 2022 Answer Key Today , How to Raise Objections

The GATE 2022 test answer key will be released today, February 21st by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. The official site to download the response key is GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).

Students will need to use their GATE 2022 credentials, login and password to upload the answer key. Students who are dissatisfied with the answers provided in the answer key will be given the opportunity to raise objections.

Applicants can contest the GATE 2022 answer key between February 22-25. Candidates can contest answer keys by paying Rs 500 per question.
