Registration of births is required under India’s Civil Registration System (CRS). The Registration of Births and Deaths Act of 1969 (RBD Act) makes birth, death, and stillbirth registration mandatory across the country.
Application Process
You can receive a Birth Certificate Registration Form online at crsorgi.gov.in or in person at the registrar’s office.
The paperwork is supplied by the medical officer-in-charge whenever a child is born at a hospital.
Complete the paperwork within 21 days of the child’s birth.
Note that application for a birth certificate must be done within 21 days of the child’s birth.
The certificate is issued when the registrar validates the birth records (date, time, place of birth, parent’s ID evidence, nursing facility, etc.).
