NIOS D.El.Ed ODL Programme now valid for school teacher posts
People who have completed the NIOS D.El.Ed (ODL Program) in Elementary Education are now qualified to apply for teaching positions in a variety of schools. The National Council of Teaching Education, NCTE, has changed the requirements of eligibility, making D.El.Ed candidates eligible to apply for school teacher vacancies, according to Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The Union HRD minister took to his social media handle on twitter to confirm the same. ``Honoring the decision of Hon’ble Patna High Court to maintain equivalence between D.El.Ed syllabus conducted through NIOS and any other NCTE recognized institute for employment purposes, NCTE has accepted the decision,’ he tweeted. Furthermore, he also stated that a letter to this effect has been written to the ACS (Education) of the Government of Bihar. After this decision, D.El.Ed diploma holders will now be able to apply for the post of school teacher.
Thousands of diploma holders will now be allowed to apply for teaching positions as a result of these changes.
