Follow the given steps to fill out the basic information and the application form.
Candidates are advised in their own interest to submit online applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability or failure to login to the SSC website on account of heavy load on the website during the closing days.

Age relaxations
Permissible age relaxation for reserved categories is as follows -

Essential educational qualification (as on 1 January year 2)
Educational Qualification for all posts is Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
NOTE : The result of requisite educational qualification must have been declared by the Board/ University by the specified date. Mere processing of the result by the Board/ University by the crucial cut-off date does not fulfil the EQ requirement.
Scheme and Pattern
The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below
Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (Preliminary)
Tier-II: Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET)
Tier III: Computer Based Examination (Mains) (English language and comprehension)
Tier 1 (Pre)
Tier-1 will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English language.
Test will be conducted in online mode.
Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
Total time allowed will be 2 hours

Tier 2 (PET/PST)
This phase of examination does not carry any marks but is of QUALIFYING/ ELIMINATION nature.
Ex-servicemen applying for the examination are not required to undergo PET. However they need to fulfil PST and pass the prescribed medical standards.

There will be total 200 questions for a total of 200 marks.
Detailed medical Examination
Medical examination
- All the candidates who qualify in Paper-II will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade-I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary. Candidates, who are found to be unfit, will be informed of the position and they can make an appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time limit of 15 days. Decision of Re-Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be final.
- The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.
- They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Eye sight: The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye). The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) of both eyes without any correction like wearing glasses or surgery of any kind to improve visual acuity. In right handed person, the right eye is better eye and vice versa.

Allowances
House rent allowance
The house rent allowance is given as a percentage of basic pay depending on the type of city
City X – 24%
City Y – 16%
City Z – 8%
Transport allowance
This is also based on what city the candidate is in -
Cities – 3600 INR
Other places – 1800 INR
Dearness allowance
This is the cost of living allowance. Currently this is valued at 17% of basic pay.
Diet allowance/Ration Money
Diet Allowance or Ration money is provided to the CPO employees to cater to their diet needs. The Diet allowance of Rs 101.5 is provided to SI in Delhi Police. Ration money of Rs.97.85 per head per day is admissible to SI in CISF.
Children Education Allowance/Hostel subsidy
CEA @ Rs.2250/- per month (Total Rs.27000/- per annum) for children studying class Nursery to 12th class.
Hostel subsidy @ Rs.6750/- per month (Total Rs.81000/- per annum) for children studying in hostel.
Dress Allowance
Rs.10,000/- (Annual) is given to posts from Constable to Inspector in the month of July of every year.
Risk /Hardship Allowance
The risk/hardship allowance is given according to the region. The sub-inspectors working in remote and dangerous areas are given this allowance according to the level of risk. Officials posted in areas of high-risk zone are given an extra allowance.
Pension
Pension is based on the amount of money that gets deducted from the salary the the employee every month. This gets rewarded after retirement when the employee gets a handsome amount every month.
