IIT Mandi signs MoU with District Disaster Management Authority
On January 31, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi and the district disaster management authority (DDMA) of Kangra signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and deploy 10 Landslide Monitoring and Early Warning Systems (EWS) in Kangra.
These areas were chosen after site visits and study based on InSAR-based analysis, as well as consultation with the district administration.
This will also aid in the development of machine learning methods for forecasting InSAR and EWS-based outcomes in order to generate prediction-based warnings.
