SC refuses to entertain PIL seeking common syllabus, curriculum for children across India

The Supreme Court on Friday turned down a petition challenging some portions of the Right to Education Act-2009 as arbitrary and unreasonable and calling for the creation of a national curriculum and syllabus for pupils.

According to the petition, a single minimum education curriculum for children aged 6 to 14 years would result in the creation of a code of common culture, the elimination of disparities, and the depletion of discriminating values in human connections.

The petitioner’s counsel, Ashwini Upadhyay, was instructed to take the issue to the high court by a panel of Justices L Nageswara Rao and B R Gavai.

But if this will implemented then it will result in the formation of a common culture code, the abolition of inequities, and the eradication of discriminatory values in human relationships.
