Jamia Millia Islamia, JMI University has been closed for over 2 years now, and as colleges and universities across the country are slowly reopening, student organisations are demanding the reopening of JMI as well.
Students on Friday protested and demanded the resumption of offline classes at the university. JMI officials assured students that the university would soon reopen in stages. The protest was organized by the All India Student Association (AISA) along with other student militias and JMI students.
According to a PTI report, the student organisation stated that “Jamia has been closed for over two years and students from all over the country have been demanding its reopening since DDMA (Delhi Disaster Management Authority) the first week of February.”
