The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore will soon establish a postgraduate medical school along with a general hospital on campus. The non-profit hospital will have 800 beds and serve clinical training and research activities through an academic program.
The institute received funding of Rs 425 crores for the establishment of the hospital. The Institute will offer an integrated MD-PhD double degree program in clinical research to develop new treatments and healthcare solutions.
According to the IISc’s official notice, students will be studying at the same time at the hospital and at the IISc’s science and engineering labs.
