RaghavAnand As I have been preparing for govt. job exams, but I miss the exam with very few margins and I think English words are dragging me back. So, can anyone tell me the strategy to memorize words?
Kamal RaghavAnand This is intended for competitive tests alone. If it had been for general vocabulary improvement, I would have advised something else. Obtain a good book, such as one by SP Bakshi or another with a large number of words. If you’re skilled at it, you can learn by rote. If rote learning isn’t your strong suit, invest in a book like Word Power Made Easy, which breaks down each word and its components. No matter how smart you are, you’ll have to be repetitive. Yes, at least 4-5 modifications are required. AT THE VERY LEAST Many people recommend looking up word meanings in the newspaper every day; it’s a nice habit to have, but if you add 10 words every day, you’ll have almost 3500 terms in a year. So, ask yourself if you’re capable of it.
RahulRana RaghavAnand There are various resources but the one that I suggest you the book word for made easy by Norman Lewis is the best .
