A Pay Commission is a Central Government administrative system and procedure that evaluates and analyses existing payment systems and provides recommendations for pay, allowances, perks, bonuses, and other benefits for civil and military employees.
The 7th Pay commission was one of the reforms.
Here is the process to calculate the salary after the 7th pay commission:
1: Check your basic pay (including grade pay) as on 31.12.2015
2: Multiplication by a Fitment factor of 2.57
3: Rounded off to the nearest rupee
4: Go to Matrix Pay Table and select the Level corresponding to Grade Pay
5: Select equal or next higher Pay in the corresponding Matrix Level
