Before invasion:
I think we the Indians have had a reputation for being a knowledgeable people from ancient times. During that period, some of the early Hindu and Buddhist centres of study, such as Taxila and Nalanda universities, were quite well-known. Initially, education was restricted to the priestly class, with conventional components such as religion, logic, and so on being taught. Then, with the establishment of Islamic empires, Islamic education was extended to India, and Mqtabas and Madrasas became places of learning. The arrival of the British in India ushered in a new era in Indian education, with the vast majority of improvements and progress taking place during the British era. They introduced a new educational system to India, which was distinct from the previous system.
After Britishers interference:
Education was first ignored throughout the British rule, but a series of initiatives implemented in the early half of the twentieth century eventually laid the foundation stone for modern education in India. They restructured India’s educational system and introduced contemporary scientific education to the country. As a result, India was thrust into a new period under British rule. The purpose of this study is to critically examine the evolution of education in India throughout the British period.
