Selection Process
After scrutiny of applications if the eligibility is the same as per the posts of CMD then applicants are asked to appear for an interview. If a candidate is found suitable for the post then he/she is selected as CMD of NCL. After selection, the pay scale of the candidate will be between Rs 180000 to Rs 320000.
2. Director
Director is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. He/She is overall in charge of their allotted department like Personnel, Technical, Finance, etc., in the organisation.

03. Advisor
This post can be advertised with a job profile as Senior Advisor, Junior Advisor or Advisor for which Retired/Retiring CMDs or Directors are selected from CIL or its Subsidiaries, Autonomous Organization of Central/State Government, PSUs for a fixed tenure.

4. Manager
Manager positions, like the post of Advisor, are notified (and exist depending on roles and responsibilities) as General Manager, Chief Manager, Senior Manager, Manager, Deputy Manager and Assistant Manager. As the name suggests, this post is the responsibility of the management of the company.

- Eligible applicants have to submit their Application (Hard Copy) in the Format which may be downloaded from the WebSite of Coal India Limited and send through speed post to the General Manager (Personnel/Recruitment) before the date mentioned in the notification.
- Applicants must invariably super scribe the Post and Grade applied.
- Application is to be submitted along with 2 self-attested recent passport photographs (with the full name written on the backside for identification) and also self-attested copies of documents/certificates in support of claim regarding age, qualification, experience etc.,
- Non- attachment of required documents as per application format will be treated as an incomplete application and will be rejected forthright.

For the posts of Chairman and Managing Director and Directors (of Different Disciplines), Public Enterprises Selection Board of the Department of Personnel Training, Government of India recruits while for the posts of Advisors and Managers (Company Secretaries) the parent organisation of NCL i.e., Coal India Limited (CIL) recruits the candidates.

6. Assistant Foreman and Technician
Like the posts of Accountant and Overseer, the age limit for the posts of Assistant Foreman and Technicians is 18 to 30 years also. The various disciplines for the post of Assistant Foreman are Trainee, Mechanical and Others. Candidates having Diploma in relevant disciplines or higher qualification (minimum 3 years course) are eligible to apply for this post. While the disciplines for the post of Technician are Welder (Gas and Electric), Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Motor Mechanic for which an ITI passed candidate is recruited.
