ICMR NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH IN TUBERCULOSIS
The National Institute of Tuberculosis is a tuberculosis research institute based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. We are conducting research on the clinical, bacteriological, behavioral, and epidemiological aspects of tuberculosis and HIV-TB. Applications are invited for the following post to be filled purely on a temporary basis from willing eligible candidates for the below-mentioned project implemented by this institute as detailed thereon.
Position - Project Assistant(Statistical Assistant)
Name of the Project
A multi-centric prospective cohort study of TB recurrence-free cure among microbiologically confirmed new pulmonary tuberculosis patients treated under NTEP with the 4-month moxifloxacin-containing daily regimen.
Duration
The duration of the project will be of six months

Age Relaxation
Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects), and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other ICMR research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.
Essential qualification
The candidate is needed to be a Graduate in Statistics/ Biostatistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university with 3 years of work experience from a recognized institution.
OR
Master’s degree in Statistics/ Biostatistics/Applied Statistics.
Age Limit
The age of the candidate should not exceed 30 years of age.
Salary
The candidate selected for the post will get a consolidated salary of Rs.31,000/- p.m.
Nature of Duties
Ensuring data completion and accuracy in the project database.
Conduct periodic data checks, troubleshooting, and interacting with the study sites for data quality and verification.
Conducting periodic analysis and report generation.
Performing any other study-related activities delegated by the Study Coordinator/Principal Investigator.

Documents Required
The Documents required at the time of the interview are
1. The candidates need to come along with self-attested copies of all credentials in support of educational qualifications, age, caste/community, and affixing a color passport size photograph on the application form while reporting for walk-in written test/interview on the date and time mentioned above. Original Certificates of all these credentials should also be carried with for verification.
2. For reserved category posts, candidates must produce their latest Caste Validity Certificate. OBC candidates must possess the latest valid non-creamy layer certificate. PWD candidates shall produce the latest disability certificate issued by a Medical Board of Government hospital with not less than 40% disability.
3. Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment.
4. No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).
Instructions to candidates
1. All posts are Contractual for the duration offered. The engagement may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.
2. The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under NIRT/ICMR or continuation of/her services in any other project.
3. TA/DA will not be paid by NIRT for attending the written test/ interview.
4. The Director, ICMR-NIRT reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
5. Any further information may be downloaded from the ICMR-NIRT website which will be updated from time to time.
6. Date of the Walk-in written test/Interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check the website before appearing for a walk-in written test/interview.
7. The Director/Selection Committee has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason thereof. Canvassing and bringing pressure in any form for shortlisting, interview, and employment will be a disqualification and barred from the selection process.
