Supreme Court refused to delay NEET PG exam

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking postponement of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-PG 2022) for admission to postgraduate medical courses. A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant, during the hearing on Friday, rejected the demand for postponement of the NEET PG exam 2022, which was to be held on May 21.

Can I ask detail information or background regarding this postponement? Why did the petitioner want this postponement?

CBSE board exams will end on 15th june 2022 and the NEET-UG exam is scheduled in August. Students are arguing that they have very little time to prepare for NEET exam. Other major exams such ass JEE Mains and CUCET etc are also scheduled near that period. Students will go through agony and anxiety to prepare for these exams in very less time. This is why they wanted this NEET-UG to get postponed.
