  • Yes, labour laws are well applicable to government employees infact it is the public sector that takes labour laws most seriously and because of this fact government jobs become so lucrative. It is the private sector that skips the labour laws and works on profit motive, forcing the employees to live a subsistence life.
Further it is important to know about functioning of labour market, an employer is always better placed than the employee. In today’s capitalist market the bargaining power is dwindling . A poor women would love to do knitting work just to avail two times meal.

    • It is well know that “Exam leak” is now becoming trend in Bihar. On may 8, 2022 BPSC conduted its 67th pre examination but before the exams starts the question paper got leaked on social media platforms and BPSC had to cancel the examination. Later on Thursday August 18, BPSC has released a notice for new exam date, exam is to be held on 20 and 22 september in two shifts.

Aspirants are protesting against this notice of two shift examination with two reasons. First, BPSC exam is to be conduct nearby UPSC mains examination and second “to conduct fair and transparent examination”.

    • Yes it is applicable to all employees categorised as workers. The definition of “workers” under the new rules is similar to the definition provided under the Factories Act. However, this does not mean the benefits are only applicable to blue-collar workers, who work in factories.
Every individual contributor (person not engaged mainly in managerial/administrative or supervisory role- for supervisor the limit of Rs 18,000 of wages per month has been prescribed), irrespective of the work assigned to him/her or remuneration drawn (except in case of supervisor) should qualify as a worker under the new labour codes,

    • As mentioned by Major General (Retd.) GD Bakshi in a tweet that Agnipath Scheme seems as a move to convert Indian Armed Forces into short term quasi-conscript force like Chinese troops. Further he urges that please don’t do it. I strongly believe that it will not only hamper the national sentiments towards Armed forces but also its prestige will be distorted. Further I would like to add that Armed Forces should never be entertained for Politics. It should solely be in the hands of Retired and serving officers to choose what changes should be brought to Army.
We are already facing threats from 2 fronts i.e, Pakistan and China at LOC and LAC. In such situation if we will implement such controversial scheme, it will weaken our forces and the feeling to protect our country at cost of Army personnel’s life will no more be that strengthened.
Violence is not the way to show our disagreement to the Govt but as Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh said after throwing bomb at Assembly Hall that “It takes a loud noise to make the deaf hear.”
